As Roslyn's main road, Highgate is busier than the residential streets, but it is also the suburb's defining spine. The road runs along the ridge and is closely associated with the iconic Roslyn Overbridge and without a doubt one of the best views in Dunedin; it looks straight down Stuart St, across the harbour to the Otago Peninsula.

Erin Street
Erin Street has that classic Roslyn feel, established homes, beautiful gardens filled with camelias, roses and hydrangeas and a peaceful residential atmosphere and views of the city and harbour while still being close to the village and everything Highgate has to offer.
It is the sort of street where you can appreciate the character of Dunedin architecture while enjoying the quieter side of the suburb.

Pacific Street is such a lovely residential street. Its elevated position and surrounding greenery contribute to the sense of space that makes Dunedin's hill suburbs so special.

Kilgour Street
Kilgour Street is another lovely example of Roslyn's quieter residential character.
Tucked among the surrounding streets, it offers the kind of established Dunedin setting that makes Roslyn so special. Lovely gardens, beautiful homes and the natural slopes of the suburb create constantly changing views.
There is also a little piece of Roslyn history in the name itself. The suburb's early development is associated with James Kilgour, who subdivided land in the area and gave it the name Roslyn.

Leven Street deserves its place on the list for its combination of character, history and classic Roslyn atmosphere.
The street is part of the older fabric of the suburb, with historical records documenting sections of Leven Street in the Township of Roslyn as far back as the 1920s.

I think what makes these five streets special isn't simply one particular house or view. It is the combination of everything around them.
